Breast Cancer Awareness

 

So I know that this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so lets think PINK!!! I happen to love pink on anything I even have a hot pink shower curtain. I just love that there are so many products available to support breast cancer research.

1 in just under 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer also 1 in 35 will die from it!!! This number just staggers me!!! There are many things that can help to prevent or postpone breast cancer such as eating well, breast feeding, and exercising. However, none of those are 100% preventative. Cancer is very dependent on genetics and mutations in the cells (I could go on about genetics... but I won't) The good news is there are some studies being done finally that is finding ways to zero in on cancer cells.

 

These studies are very heavily funded by the pink products and the Susan G Komen foundation. I have for the past 4 years run in the Race for the Cure race and this year is no exception. The feeling of walking with survivors, families of deceased and those walking/ running for the cure. Here are some of my more favorite Pink items:

 

 

Make sure ladies to get check-ups regularly. I think my favorite T-shirt are the ones I see that say

 "Save Second Base!"
