Minimize your Stress!!!

This fall I am going to try this trend on for size. My boyfriend always says "less is more" and many designers are echoing the same motto in such gorgeous ways. Minimalism has made so many come backs in history. Currently minimalism is super hot and not nearly as easy as it might seem given the name. This trend focuses on geometry, clean lines and simple colors.

The way to achieve this look is through perfect balance. This style of dressing is about pairing casual dressing and a chic mindset. Also this style is very chromatic based. This style is not for the bold and flashy but for the subtle and clever. Minimalistic shapes are not your average shape with bright color distractions. Rather a minimalistic jacket will pay close attention to the seam lines, luscious fabric and details that seem to be thoughtless. Nothing about this look is thrown together, despite what it may look like. It really takes a clever person to pair a structured Calvin Klein jacket with Chloe pants and some flawless understated sandles.

For work this is a perfect, and I do mean perfect, way to show how much attention you show to detail. I know when I see a picture of a great minimalistic outfit it makes me stop in my tracks and look at each peice and the details instead of just flipping through looking at the "pretty flashes" of color. I suggest testing this trend out with a great tailored blazer and perfect trousers in a monochromatic color way. This style is all about creating a uniform big picture that causes the viewer to stop and question why it is beautiful.

This look does not have an obvious beauty like sequins or florals. This look makes you  have to stop and admire the thought that went into creating the ensamble. This style is really not as simple as just buying a few garments it really does take a European mindset of casual confidence and strength. I just love that with this trend you must have confidence in yourself. Many of the other trends this season do not require the confidence it takes to wear "simple" looking clothing.

This is also such a great wardrobe option if you are tight on funds. All you have to do is buy a few amazing tailored garments, several basics and some great leather accessories and BAM you have a wardrobe on a budget that looks flawless. Plus when you buy clothing in one color way all of your clothes will match and it is a chinch to get ready in the morning so you can get a few extra mins of beauty sleep. This trend is not just about the clothing but also making sure you are well groomed with clean simple hair, a glowing complexion and well manicured nails.

Bold Necklaces Liven up Basics

I can't even begin to count how many bold, massive necklaces I have seen this past week on tv shows and it makes me happy. I love a strong statement necklace bcause that means everything in your look can be minimal. A beautifully crafted necklace is the perfect accessory right now when it is not too hot where all you want to do is be naked but also not too cold where you are bundled up in scarves. I love a bold necklace with a deep v-neck sweater because it frames your face but the v-neck also reveals some skin that is hidden by the necklace.

I just love that one of these collar necklaces can liven up a basic plain white t-shirt and jeans or a basic grey sweatshirt with a mini denim skirt. The best thing about this accessory is that you can wear a bold necklace anywhere and anytime. I just got an orange and gold collar necklace, remenescant of that from ancient Egyptian, and was so excited to wear it with my black jersey knit dress to the UT football game. I also wore the same necklace to work with my grey button down blouse and black trousers.

Another great point about a bold necklace is you are never ever too old to wear a heavy necklace similar to Barbara Walters on the View. A bold necklace does not age or date a person becuase of how many options there are available.

I just love that this trend is promoting being a little outrageous and extraordinary. So when you are getting ready in the morning make sure to pick this accessory because of how simple it is to get ready. Plus with this you can sleep in a few extra minutes, toss your hair into a chic chignon and throw on a bold necklace to finish up your look.

COLOR OF THE WEEK!!!!

For next week I am really liking Emerald Green with Nude!!! I just think they are so flattering and glam!!! I can just picture a stunning Emerald Green dress with Nude details and some chic, leg legthening pumps. Or a Nude silk cami with a silk emerald green scarf paired with a fabulous charcoal blazer sounds perfect for work. Shades of beige really enhance the richness of the green. I just love to work with jewel tones!!!

Maximize your Maxi skirt!!!

I just love love love maxi skirts and dresses. For those of you who do not know, because I was asked the other day, a maxi skirt is term for a full length skirt. Maxi dresses are everywhere; on celebs at the beach, on the runway, at the park, or at dinner with your significant other. In keeping with the rest of the posts from this week a maxi skirt is super versatile it just depends on the accessories. They are just so form flattering for several shapes just make sure to pick a fabric that is heavy and drapes well. Also the most flattering silhouette is at the natural waist right under the last rib bone because it is the skinniest part of your torso.

A maxi dress can jump easily from straw hats and strappy sandals with the breeze billowing your skirt to those sexy Michael Kors heels and your hair down. This dress creates such a tall column that creates an illusion that  your legs will never end and an added bonus, they hide all sorts of problems like cellulite and less than toned legs. For those of us with short, imperfect legs this is a miracle!!! With a maxi dress the single fabric that appears to go on and on. A maxi skirt is great for illuding to long slender legs while giving the wearer freedom to be more creative with your top. You can wear almost anything with a max skirt like a white t-shirt (refer to yesterday), tank top and cardigan, blazer, graphic tee... the possibilities are endless.

This style fits for everyone tall, short, super skinny, not so fit, or pregnant. If you are fortunate and tall the maxi can make you even more goddess like. Embrace your height and emphasize it with this perfect style and while you are at it wear heels. If you are short, or petite, a maxi dress is the way to go to legthen your body and illude to a taller figure. If you have a skinny figure and are looking to add fullness my suggestion is a maxi skirt with a great belt, bulky cardigan or a lovely scarf to add some curve. The maxi dress is amazing for those with a not so fit figure because the fabric hangs straight down barely skimming the curves and not so flattering bulges. I love a maxi dress on a pregnant woman because it wraps around the baby bump nicely.

For sure try a maxi skirt or dress tomorrow. Make sure to stand up tall knowing you sure do look it. You don't have to look like a hippie in a maxi skirt if your accessories, hair and makeup are polished and chic. Avoid looking over powered by the amounts of fabric by sticking with a solid with subtle details or an abstract print that aids in the lengthening power of the column.
