Zebra!!!

"When you hear hoof beats behind you, don't expect to see a zebra", which was coined in a slightly modified form in the late 1940s by Dr. Theodore Woodward. While yes that is referring to rare medical cases I am going to be inspired by that today talk about zebra prints. I love zebra prints because it is linear yet organic at the same time. Many man made prints today try to toe the line of balance between regulated and rhythm and living, changing and organic.

I also appreciate that you can wear zebra with any colors due to the black and white found in the fur. I love love love seeing zebra print next to a rich red fabric. Zebra print on the body can be so flattering because it can wrap and warp around the body to camouflage problem areas. I do feel like a bit of warning is in order and that is to not wear this print head to toe!!! Also if you are want to be taken serious never pair hot pink with zebra. I promise you will look juvenile if you pair those together.

I once made a jacket with shades of blue in it and used a zebra printed lining as a hidden detail. It looked so great and it was a perfect amount of fun to wear on a job interview. I like to wear fun patterns as a secret that can give me a sense of confidence. I suggest trying on this print of size. Plus with a majority of the population flocking to leopard print you can finally give the zebra a break from the herd so to speak. :)
